Obituary for Voicy Mae Steward
Mrs. Voicy Steward, 74, of Menifee, Arkansas departed this life August 7, 2010. She was born November 15, 1935 in the Happy Bend community near Atkins, AR. to the late Cordelia Swinton Cunningham and Levi Cunningham. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Rev. J.L. Steward.Â
Sister Steward graduated from L.W. Sullivan High School in Morrilton in 1955. She retired from Conway Human Development Center after twenty three years in 1995. She was a member of Philadephia Missionary Baptist Church in Menifee, Ar., where she was very involved. She also served as music director in the Regular Missionary Baptist Women's Convention, the West Wing Church and Singing Union. She also served as Asst. Secretary of the church, Secretary of the local Missionary Society and Asst. Secretary of the Conway County NAACP.Â
She leaves to cherish her memories: one daughter, Donna Murphy of Menifee, AR; two sons, Lionel (Beverly) Paul Hall of Menifee, AR and Elliott L. (Valeda) Hall, Sr. of Virginia Beach, VA; stepdaughter, Charlene (Azell) Flemons of Dardanelle, AR. One brother, Lee Andrew (Georgia) Cunningham of Kansas City, MO.; one aunt, Murlene McGhee, of Cotton Plant, AR; Ten Grandchildren, and One Great Granddaughter.Â
Family Visitations 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, August 13, 2010 at Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church in Menifee, Ar. Funeral services 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 14, 2010 at Philadephia Baptist Church. Interment Rose of Sharon Cemetery in Blackwell, AR.  Arrangements entrusted to Larry G.
