Obituary for Earnest Jr. James
Earnest James, Sr., 71, of Carlisle, departed this life May 2, 2012. He was born to Beatrice Smith and the late James A. James, in Moro, Arkansas on October 22, 1940. He was a kind soul who never met a stranger and was always willing to offer a hand to anyone who needed it.

During his life here on earth, he was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Carlisle, Ar, where he served as an usher and was affiliated with other ministries in the church. He also served a time as a volunteer fireman for the Carlisle Fire Department.

He worked most of his life in the farming industry before retiring 10 years ago. After retirement, he found simple enjoyment in his daily morning walks. He was supportive to his family and the apple of his grandchildren’s eyes.

Just as the sun rose on Tuesday, October 22, 1940, the sun set on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 when he crossed into the gates of eternity. Preceding him in death is his father, James A. James; stepmother, Mahaley James; stepfather, Alex Davis; Eldest son, Earnest (Bubba) James, Jr.; grandson, Adryan Spencer; two brothers, Larry James and Franklin James, and sister, Kathryn Almond.
