Obituary for Elijah James Williams
Mr. Elijah Joe Williams, 83, of North Little Rock, departed this life Thursday, June 14, 2012. He was born on January 22, 1929 in Brickeys, AR to the late Sammie Dee Williams, Sr. and Mary Bell (Needom) Williams. He was preceded in death by his wife Inez Williams and two children, Cheryl Johnson and Wilbur Williams.
He was a member of Trinity Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He also sung with several quartet singing groups including the Jubilaires of Marche.
He is survived by three sons, Joey (Jackie) Williams of San Jose’, CA; Jeremiah Williams of Sherwood, AR and Sonto (Charlotte) of Maumelle, AR; one brother, Sammie Dee (Bernetta) Williams, Jr. of Gary, IN; one sister, Sandra (LeRoy) Caesar of Gary, IN; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held 11 am Saturday, June 23, 2012 at Trinity Grove Baptist Church, 14208 Old Maumelle Rd in Maumelle, AR. Arrangements entrusted to Larry G . Acklin Funeral Home, 910 Walnut Street, Conway. "IN YOUR TIME OF NEED...... WE CARE."
