Obituary for Jewell Bond Jackson, Jr.
Mr. Jewell Bond Jackson, Jr., 59, of Menifee, AR departed this life on August 31, 2015. He was born to the Ernestine Jackson and the late Jewell Bond Jackson, Sr. in Morrilton, AR on June 19, 1956.Â
He was a resident of Russellville, AR for many years, where he served as the first black alderman and a member of the City Council and Menifee, AR for a number of years. Jewell was employed with AP&L, the Mayflower School District and Waste Management.
Survivors include his loving wife, Shawna Renee Jackson; children Marcus and Melody Jackson; mother Ernestine Jackson; two sisters, Brenda Sweatt Martin and Chandra Jackson and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Friday, September 11, 2015 at Pleasant Hill #2 Missionary Baptist Church in Kenwood, AR (Hwy 64). Rev. Luke Hawkins will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation 2-5 pm, Thursday, Sept 10, 2015 at the funeral home.Â
