Obituary for Curley "Sonny" Morris
Mr. Curley Morris, 74, of Twin Groves, Ar departed this life on Saturday, April 7, 2018. He was born May 21, 1943 to George and May Frances Keith Morris, who preceded him in death. Additionally, his sister, Georgia Ann Peters preceded him in death.

Curley known as “Sonny” to many, graduated from high school in Anniston, Alabama. He was a man of many talents. He worked as a barber, machinist and a demolition man. Early in life an accident disabled him. He moved to Kansas City Missouri, to be cared for by his Uncle Cornelius and Aunt Lillie Mae Tyus. He came to Arkansas with Cornelius and Lillie Mae, after Cornelius retired and decided to move back home.

Farm life was a joy for him. He knew about growing flowers, plants and animals, remember the pet goat named Boy? This knowledge made him a great help to Pop and Aunt Lillie Mae, who he considered his parents. He also reveled in teaching young people about the farm and farm life. Sonny was also known as a ladies man. He loved the ladies … especially the full figured ones! Sonny lived his life with a smile. He loved to tell jokes, and when he told a really good joke, he would lean back and give his knee a few wild slaps!

In 2009 another accident caused him to come to reside in Brookridge Nursing Home until his death Many stories have been told about how much the staff enjoyed Sonny. Even as his health declined, he kept a positive and uplifting attitude and spirit. He will be sadly missed by his nephews Bernard Peters, Bobby Peters (Rose), Steven Peters (Gina) and niece Debra Peters and a whole host of family and friends, but especially by his Godmother Lillie M. Tyus.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm, Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 1514 Hwy 65 North, Twin Groves, Ar. Visitation one hour prior to service. Interment Zion Grove Cemetery in Twin Groves, Ar.

Services entrusted to Larry G. Acklin Funeral Home, 910 Walnut Street, Conway, Ar. "IN YOUR TIME OF NEED....WE CARE."
