Obituary for Tyrone Sr. Chambers
Mr. Tyrone Chambers, Sr. was born July 14, 1940 in Cleveland, Arkansas to the late Aretha Rainey and L.B. (Trusilar) Chambers. He departed this life on September 28, 2015 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas at the age of 75.
He united with Moore’s Chapel AME Zion Church in Cleveland, Arkansas where he remained a member. He made many friends during his employment at Compton Mills (18 years) in Morrilton, Arkansas and Virco Manufacturing Company (15 years) in Conway, Arkansas until his retirement.
He is preceded in death by His parents; daughter Carmelia Chambers-McKey; sons Darwin Chambers and Kevin Chambers; sisters Janette Chambers-Hervey and Beatrice Chambers; brother Homer (Angela) Ross; granddaughter LaKina Chambers and his grandson Byron Martin, Jr.
He united in matrimony with his wife of 55 years, Freddie Belle Chambers, where they relocated their family to Alamosa, San Luis and Lamar, Colorado before returning back to Cleveland, Arkansas. To this union daughters Suzanna Chambers of Conway, Arkansas; Stephanie (Clardy) Chambers of Plumerville, Arkansas; sons Tyrone Jr. (Virginia) Chambers of Conway, Arkansas; Wilfred Chambers of Russellville, AR and Kenneth Chambers of Cleveland, Arkansas; sisters Ruth McKey of Cleveland, AR; Joyce (Marcellous) Cunningham of Atkins, Arkansas; Norma (Byron) Robertson of Sherwood, AR; Kaye (Kenneth) Perry of North Little Rock, Arkansas; Rita (Kenneth) Abrams of Plumerville, Arkansas; Juanita (Rickey) Robertson of St. Louis, Missouri; Bonnie (Roman) Reed of Springfield, Arkansas; Henrietta (James) Holloway and Yvonne Dorris, both of Morrilton, Arkansas; Ida (Eugene) Ross of Los Angeles, California and Gwendolyn (Sam) McDaniel of Kansas City, Missouri; brothers Hervey (Kathy) Chambers of Jacksonville, Arkansas and Darrell (Marcia) Chambers of Yuba City, California; Fourteen grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. All of his nephews he counted as “Special Friends” and an adopted son, Joey Caston. To Tag, everyone was greeted as “Toot-females” and “Doc-males”.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm, Saturday, October 3, 2015 at New Hope Baptist Church, 1232 Watkins Street, Conway, AR. Interment Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Cleveland, AR. Visitation will be 1:00 – 5:00 pm, Friday, October 2, 2015 at the funeral home.
