Obituary for Tierra Simone Sumpter
Ms. Tierra Simone Sumpter, 24, departed this life and entered eternal rest on Tuesday, September 27, 2022. Tierra Sumpter was born November 5, 1997 to Roderick Wia Sumpter and Terri Tanqueray (Doyne) Reed in Bad Windsheim, Germany.
Tierra attended McClellan Magnet High School and was a part of the graduating class of 2016.
Tierra started off life applying, entering and being briefly a part of the Federal Emergency Management Agency Corps. Later, she was an entrepreneur, an aspiring chef and hairstylist, serving her community for six years. Tierra’s goal was to open her own family style restaurant, dedicated to serving healthy and enriching foods.
Tierra Sumpter was a kind person who also labored in the food service industry. She always reported fifteen minutes ahead of the schedule shift, in a clean and neatly pressed attire; presenting a professional tapered appearance. Her disposition was constantly positive with a “let’s get this done” mindset. She was an exceptional teammate, possessing keen intellect, sharp communication skills, and was a tremendous asset to her company.
Tierra Sumpter is preceded in death by her paternal grandmother Shirley Anne Sumpter and maternal grandmother Grace Holder.
She leaves cherished memories with her loving son Tymir Williams and his father Blake Williams of Little Rock, AR; father Roderick W. Sumpter of Austin, Texas; mother Terri T. Reed of Little Rock, AR; two sisters Teresa Reed of Little Rock, AR and Journee S. Sumpter of Austin, TX; brother Colin Reed of Little Rock, AR; maternal grandfather Albert Doyne of Little Rock, AR; paternal grandfather Alray Sumpter, Sr. of Austin, TX and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, October 8, 2022 at Samaritan Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 1001 E. 13th Street, NLR. Visitation 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm, Friday, October 7, 2022 at the church. Interment Arkansas Memorial Gardens, 8507 Hwy 161, NLR.
