Obituary for Thil L Flinoil

Mr. Thil L. Flinoil, 92, of Menifee, AR departed this life Tuesday, June 27, 2024. He was born August 5, 1931 in Little Rock, AR to the late George Flinoil and Amanda (Hines) Harding.

Mr. Flinoil confessed Christ at an early age. From the beginning he loved music, especially singing gospel music. This would become his life long passion, one carried out in churches across Arkansas and on the local radio stations as a member of the Spiritual Four. This quartet consisted of his two brothers and a brother-in-law.

Mr. Flinoil loved to hunt, fish, play pool and dabble in television repair. He was also known for dressing to impress and at 6'4",  he could style and profile in a sharp Sunday suit.

In 1950, Mr. Flinoil married Ms. Mary Maedoughs Flinoil. They settled in Detroit, MI and had five children who are left to mourn his passing: Erna (Michael) Flinoil-Foster, Thil Flinoil, Jr., Delores Flinoil Bledsoe, Diane Flinoil and Michael Flinoil.

Mr. Flinoil joined the professional workforce and immediately stood out as an exceptional salesman. From encyclopedias to the sharp rides rolling off Detroit's famed Ford and GMC assembly lines, he excelled in meeting and exceeding quotas. Later, he switched to selling insurance. After decades as a salesman and owning and operating a dry cleaning business, Mr. Flinoil relocated to Menifee, Arkansas and became sole owner/operator of a top-of-the-line 18 wheeler transporting goods across the United States. An avid fan of road travel, he later transported buses across the country. While at this job he met and married Mrs. Mary Tillman Flinoil, who remained his wife until his passing.

Mr. Flinoil is also survived by two sisters, Ernie Lee Jackson and Flora Louise (Willie) Hinton; ten grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great nephews, bonus children Daveena Low, Wayne Low and Kim Low; extended family, Menifee community and all who knew and loved him.
