Obituary for Therman Leon James, Jr.
Mr. Therman "TJ" Leon James, Jr., 60, of Conway, AR found heavenly rest on Saturday, May 10, 2014. He was born on November 20, 1953 to the late Mamie Ebron James and the late Therman Lee James, Sr. in Brinkley, AR. He is preceded in death by one brother, John Forrest James.

Therman was a member of Salem Missionary Baptist Church where he served on the usher board. He later united with the Trinity Worship and Fellowship Center in Conway, AR.

Therman graduated from Brinkley High School and attended the University of Central Arkansas.

Therman loved sports and enjoyed coaching girls AAU basketball. His famous quote was "Defense wins championships".

He was employed by the Conway Human Development Center for 26 years where he served as a Rehab Instructor. 

He leaves to cherish precious memories a devoted wife of 39 years, Cozette James of Conway; three daughters Tesa (Roy) Gatewood of Ft. Smith, Ar; Jocelyn (Jason) Jackson of Alexander, AR and Jasmine James of Conway, Ar; his four adorable grandchildren, Taydren and Rian Gatewood, Jaiyah and Jaylen Jackson; four brothers, Donald (Marilyn) James of Pine Bluff, AR; Gregory James of Brinkley, AR; Carey James of Little Rock, AR and Eric (Teresa) James of Jacksonville, AR; five sisters, Ruby James of North Little Rock, AR; Beverly (Claude) Henderson of Conway, AR; Doris (Willie) Stigall and Roslyn James, both of Jacksonville, AR and Patricia (Sam) Grant of Little Rock, AR and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held 11 am, Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Greater Pleasant Branch Baptist Church, 601 Spruce Street, Conway, Ar. Visitation 4-6 pm Friday, May 16, 2014 at the funeral home. Interment Salem Cemetery.
