Obituary for Thelma Dukes
Mrs. Thelma Faye Dukes, 73, of Conway, Ar departed this life on Friday, February 27, 2015. She was born to the late James and Faye H. Dukes on October 28, 1941 in Conway, AR. She is preceded in death by her parents; one son, Dennis Brewer; two brothers, Ceotis Dukes and John Dukes and one sister, Mary Jean Dukes.Â
She united with United Baptist Church at an early age. She was deeply devoted to her family and friends. She was also an amazing mother and grandmother.Â
She worked at Tommy's Restaurant, Bob's Grill and Laura's Cafe. She also was a caregiver and private house cleaning for over forty years.Â
She is survived by one son, Robert Dukes of Conway, AR; three daughters, Diane Dukes of Mesquite, TX; Patricia Dukes and Barbara (Mario) Dukes, both of Conway, AR; two brothers, James (Mae) Dukes of Kansas City, MO and Ray (Dawnetta) Dukes of Mesquite, TX; five sisters Erma Dukes, Shirley Dukes and Janice Dukes, all of Kansas City, MO; Brenda Mance of Honolulu, Hawaii; Helen (Elton) Dillard of Conway, AR; 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 2 pm, Saturday, March 7, 2015 at United Missionary Baptist Church, 139 Old Military Road, Conway, AR with Rev. Robert McCray officiating. Visitation 6-7 pm, Friday, March 6, 2015 at the funeral home. Interment Dukes Cemetery. Â
