Obituary for Terry M. Shepherd
Mrs. Terry Mae Whitmore Shepherd, 75, of Conway, Arkansas, passed away on December 11, 2017. She was born on April 16, 1942, in Lake Village, Arkansas. She graduated from Horace Mann High School in Little Rock, Arkansas, and from Arkansas AM&N (UAPB) where she was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Mariah Anderson of Lake Village and Clora and Floyd Whitmore of Little Rock, and her brothers Henry Frazier (Rose) of St. Louis, Missouri, and Matthew Frazier of Lake Village.
She is survived by her husband, Reuel Shepherd, Jr., her children Kimberly Shepherd-Scott (Christopher) and Reuel Jabbar Shepherd of Conway, and her grandchildren Jacob Scott and Ana Brandon. She also leaves behind her siblings Mildred Watkins, Marianna Bauldin (William), and James Porter of Chicago, Illinois, and Thelma Smith of Conway, along with several nieces and nephews.
During her more than 35 years of teaching, she taught elementary school, adult education and high school English in Pine Bluff, Magnolia, Menifee, and at Conway High School. Most of all she enjoyed teaching at Pleasant Branch Baptist Church. She taught many Sunday school classes, women’s Bible study groups and preschool classes throughout her nearly 50 years of membership.
Visitation will be held 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Friday, December 15, 2017 and funeral services will be held 1:00 pm, Saturday, December 16, 2017, both at Greater Pleasant Branch Baptist Church, 601 Spruce Street, Conway. Interment will follow at Robinson Cemetery in Conway.
