Mrs. Sophia Akins, 90, of Conway, AR departed this life on Sunday, July 17, 2022. She was born December 25, 1931 in Mayflower, AR to the late Hubert and Lula (Dudley) Irby.
She is preceded in death by her parents Hubert and Lula Irby; husband Roosevelt Akins; son Roosevelt Akins, Jr.; sister Hurmer Lee Irby Wright and a brother Hubert Irby, Jr.
She is survived by a loving son, Larry (Jaquetta) Akins and daughter Darlene Akins, 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Palarm Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 795 Hwy 365 South, Mayflower, AR. Visitation 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm, Friday, July 22, 2022 at the funeral home. Interment Palarm Cemetery in Mayflower, AR.
