Obituary for Selvin Vernal Rodgers
Selvin Vernal Rodgers, 48, of Little Rock, AR, departed this life Sunday, January 6, 2013. He was born on June 9, 1964 in Marvell, Ar to the late Ora Lee Tate and Wilson Rodgers. He is preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Terrikia Carter.
He was employed as a custodian at Pulaski Heights Middle School in the Little Rock School District. As a youth and throughout his years living in Marvell, he joined and attended the Wesley Chapel AME Church in Marvell, AR.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Rodgers of Little Rock, AR; three sons, Adrian (Deidre) Young, Milton (Bea) Carter, Jr., and Selvin Rodgers, Jr., all of Little Rock, AR; two daughters, Ashante (Bennie) Carter Osler and Britannica Rodgers, both of Little Rock, AR; two brothers, Lee Annias Tate of Marvell, AR and William (Lynn) Tate of Staten Island, New York; one sister, Lorie (Paul) Williams of Conway, AR; five grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 11 am Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Rock of Ages Missionary Baptist Church, 8112 Bicentennial Road, North Little Rock, AR. Visitation 6-7 p.m Friday, January 11, 2013 at the funeral home. Interment Mt. Olive Cemetery in Marvell, AR.Â
