Obituary for Samuel L. Veasley
Samuel Veasley, 99, of Little Rock, departed this life November 10, 2012. He was born on August 1, 1913 in Parkdale, AR to the late John and Visti Veasley. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Alberta (Walker) Veasley, eight sisters and one brother.Â
Sammie was a member at Union Baptist Church in Parkdale, AR where he served as an usher. His family were sharecroppers and he loved to fish.Â
He is survived by two sons, Henry (Angelia) Clark of Little Rock, AR and Maurice Liggins of Chicago, IL; two stepsons, Ben Alexander and Bobby (Renee) Clark, both of Kansas City, MO; one step daughter, Lessie Clark of Kansas City, MO; one sister, Cora Crawford of Crossett, AR; Eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 11 am Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Gospel Lighthouse Pentecostal Church, 501 East 16th Street, Little Rock, AR. Visitation 1-5 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment Arkansas Memorial Gardens, Jacksonville.
