Obituary for Sam Edward Nelson
Mr. Sam Edward Nelson, 69, of Conway, AR departed this life Monday, January 16, 2023. He was born November 14, 1953 in Boydell, Arkansas to the late Nathan and Linard Nelson.
He accepted Christ at an early age and united with Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church in Boydell, Arkansas.
Sam was a gifted teacher and principal. He was an educator for 38.5 years. He cared about each and every student’s education.
Sam is preceded in death by his parents, Nathan and Linard Nelson, sister Ruthie Pugh and brother Nathan Nelson, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife Elois Nelson of 41 years; two sisters Susie Wright of Rock Island, Illinois and Lynne Nelson of Little Rock, AR; two daughters D’Andrea (Erik) Tyler of Grand Prairie, Texas and Chena Nelson of DeSoto, Texas; one granddaughter Leila Tyler of Grand Prairie, Texas and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and church family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Sunday, January 22, 2023 at Christ Community Center, 211 Peddicord Street, Dermott, AR. Visitation 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm, Saturday, January 21, 2023 at the funeral home. Interment Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Ashley County Road in Boydell, AR.
