Mrs. Rosemary (Turner) Winford (affectionally known as Rose) was born on July 11, 1964, in Marks, Mississippi to the late George Turner Sr. and Katherine Brooks Turner. She was the eleventh child of the Turner family. She led an awarding and fulfilling life until her health started to deteriorate a few years ago. However, she departed this life peacefully at home on November 30, 2023, surrounded by family when God called her home.
She later moved from Marks, Mississippi, then to Chicago, but ended up in Helena, Arkansas where she graduated high school from Central High School in 1982, after meeting her high school sweetheart and lifetime lover. After high school, she and her soon to be husband, Joe Winford, moved to Conway, Arkansas where she began her adult life. She began a job she loved as a habilitation rehabilitation instructor at Conway Human Development Center, where she would retire from 28 years later.
During her leisure time, you could find her watching a professional basketball game, namely the Boston Celtics. She was also passionate about baking either her famous Neiman Marcus brownie or 7up cake. She enjoyed spending time with her one and only grandson, Kyle Lemar. She was always willing to get up and dance or play spades. Most importantly, she loved her family and friends, and not one person in this room would disagree with that sentiment.
Rosemary is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Donna Faye Bowman and Yvonne Collier; one brother, Oscar Turner.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory to her devoted husband, Joe Willie Winford III, her daughter Resheda Brown (Jelani) and grandson, Kyle Williams of Denton, Texas, her son Romel Winford of Denver, Colorado; five brothers, George Turner of Chicago, Illinois; Alonzo Buggs (Bobbie) of Lambert, Mississippi; James Turner (Shelia) of Conway, Arkansas; Alcurtis Turner (Brenda) of Conway, Arkansas and Terry Turner (Cheryl) of Helena, Arkansas; four sisters Emma Jean Johnson (Ezell) of Jackson, Mississippi; Clem Harrison of Chicago, Illinois; Genevieve Lindsey of Conway, Arkansas; Marilyn Turner Cottrell of Montgomery, Alabama and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
