Obituary for Rheaber Bruce-Hammonds
Mrs. Rheaber Bruce Hammonds, 94 of Kansas City, Missouri deparded this life Tuesday November 9, 2010. She was born on March 28, 1916 in Springfield, Arkansas to William and Lucinda Baskins Bruce. Her parents, one brother, three sisters, a son and and grandchild all preceded her in death.
Rheaber was educated in the public schools of Springfield, Arkansas. She gave her life to Christ at an early age and united with the Bethlehem Baptist Church.
In January 1934, she united in Holy Matrimony to Clyde Hammonds and to this union six children were born, Leo, Curtis, Della Loisteen and two died as infants. Her husband Clyde also preceded her in death. She was a loving wife and mother, who loved to cook and enjoyed playing games and other activities with the children and visiting with family and friends.
Rheaber relocated to Kansas City, Missouri in 1994 and united with the Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church of Jesus Christ.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Curtis Hammons, Sr. (Belinda), Kansas City, MO; two daugthers, Della Hammons, Kansas City, MO; Loisteen C. Mitchem (Emmitt), Grandview, MO; sixteen grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; one nephew, one niece and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 11am Saturday, November 13, 2010 at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Springfield, Arkansas. Interment Bethlehem Cemetery.  Arrangements entrusted to Larry G. Acklin Funeral Home, Morrilton. "IN YOUR TIME OF NEED...... WE CARE".
