Obituary for Rev. Jesse Ray Manley
Rev. Jesse Ray Manley, 95 of Conway, Arkansas went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 3, 2006 at St. Andrews Nursing Center.  He was born in Conway, Arkansas on December 25, 1910 to William Manley and Rosie Delph.He was preceded in death by his wife Hattie Glover Manley, four brothers, Robert, Willie, Eddie, and James,  Two sisters, Ora Lee Walker and Nancy Peeve.  Elder Manley joined the Christ Temple Church of Christ Holiness at an early age, and remained a faithful member until the Lord called him home.When he was in his thirties, the Lord called him to preach the Gospel. After he was ordained, he started his first Pastorialship at Christ Temple in Denver, Colorado.He was pastor there for several years, and then was called to move to Tulsa, Oklahoma because the church there was in  need of a pastor and leader.Just when the church was progressing  spiritually and financially, he had to move Conway, Arkansas to take care of his father who was failing in health.While there in Conway, he was called to pastor in Arkadelphia, Arkansas and also in Searcy, Arkansas.  While pastoring these last two Christ Temple Churches, he was also doing evangelistic work for the Lord.Elder Manley studied the word of God day and night, typed his thoughts and revelations of the scriptures on a daily basis.  He was faithful to our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ, and also to the churches of Christ Holiness and the other churhes in the community.  We had our father for many years, now God has him for eternity.He leaves to mourn his going home to Glory, two daughters, Geraldine Wesley, and  Lorraine Adkins, both of Omaha, Nebraska.  One son Jesse Manley, Jr. of Lake Terrace, CA; 13  Grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, members of the Delph family and the Glover family, and special friends, Jennie Partee, Fonzie Mason, and Marcia Renfro, and member of the church.Funeral services will be at 1:00pm Friday February 10, 2006 at the Christ Temple Church (Holiness) USA, 868 Willow Street Conway, Arkansas.Interment, Robinson Cemetery.  Family visitation will be 7-8pm on Thursday Larry G. Acklin Funeral Home, Conway 327-1124.  "In Your Time Of Need..... We Care".
