Obituary for Reginald L. Hammond

Mr. Reginald “Reggie” Lemar Hammond was born November 3, 1979 to Tyrone and Jonia Hammond. Reggie was the youngest of 3 children raised in Plumerville, AR, where he learned the value of family, friendship, and God. Reggie accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and before transitioning renewed his faith. Reggie was a proud graduate of Morrilton High School Class of 1998. During those years, Reggie played football and made lifelong friendships because of his laid back and welcoming nature. Later, he furthered his education at New Tyler Barber College in North Little Rock, obtained a professional Barber’s license, and served this community and others for approximately 25 years. Reggie built trust in his customers because he was reliable and had the ability to give everyone a unique experience.

On May 23rd, 2015, Reggie married his childhood love, Kikeshia Perry, and their union brought forth two sons, one that proceeded him in death and Braxton: the beat of his heart. Reggie protected those he loved and was a provider to his wife and children. His presence will forever be missed.

Reggie, aka, “Red Man” was a “quiet storm” to some and a “gentle giant” to others. He was a man with a kind heart and an independent thinker that challenged those that knew him best. Reggie was a loyal brother; he loved and respected his siblings, showed up for his friends, and loved the Dallas Cowboys. He was into cars, traveling, and sports! Reggie was fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalms 139:14). This scripture goes on to say, “Marvelous are your works, my soul knows full well.”

On September 18th, 2023, Reggie transitioned to eternal rest.

He is preceded in death by son, Reginald Tyrone Hammond (2013) and leaves to cherish, older siblings Tracy Nicole Hammond and Michael Tyrone Hammond both of Texas, close family friend Landel Prosper (Virgina), loving parents Tyrone and Jonia Hammond of Plumerville, AR; widow, Kikeshia Shree (Perry) Hammond, son, Braxton Tyrone Hammond, stepdaughter, Jamya Perry, father-in-law, Billy Ray Walls; mother-in law, Ola Jean Doss, and a host of beloved nieces and nephews, relatives, friends, classmates, and customers.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Morrilton High School Arena, 701 E. Harding Street, Morrilton, AR. Visitation 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm, Friday, September 29, 2023 at the funeral home. Interment Menifee Community Cemetery in Menifee, AR.
