Obituary for Paul L. Smith
Paul L. Smith was born November 16th, 1927 to the late James and Sophie Smith and confessed a hope in Christ at an early age.  He was preceded in death also by his sister Ida Smith, brothers David Smith, Ruben Smith, Joe Smith, Wes Smith, Sam Smith and Lee Heard Smith.  He served in the United States Army during World War II and was honorably  discharged.  He was united in Holy Matrimony to Ceretha Pace in June of 1953.  Ceretha was a devoted wife full of God-fearing love and his care-giver throughout his life as he worked for the Veteran's Administration for over 20 years.  He united in Christ with the Trinity Grove Baptist Church early on where he was a brilliant pianist who tirelessly inspired many through his music ministry.  His style was unique and you only needed to hear his unmistakable rhythm to know it was him playing the piano.  He devoted countless hours performing in benefits, musicals and programs in aid to many communities where he selflessly served others.  He was a mentor to many, a father-figure to most young people throughout the Central Arkansas area and will be greatly missed.  He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of over 54 years, Ceretha Pace Smith, his niece DeRhonda (D.D.) Rogers, who he helped raise, a host of other nieces, nephews, family, friends and loved ones.  There will never be another Paul L. Smith.  Funeral services will be 2pm Sunday April 27, 2008 at the Trinity Grove Baptist Church, North Little Rock, Arkansas.  Interment Perkins Cemetery.  Visitation will be Sunday 1 -2pm at the church.  Arrangements entrusted to Larry G. Acklin Funeral Home 8821 Colonel Glenn, Little Rock.  "IN YOUR TIME OF NEED...... WE CARE".
