Obituary for Oretha Armstrong
Mrs. Oretha Armstrong, 85, departed this life on April 11, 2021. She was born on September 23, 1935 in Conway Arkansas to the late Ollie Bell McCuien and Ruth Piggee McCuien. She was the eldest of her two brothers Troy McCuien and Willie McCuien.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and husband Jimmie Eugene Armstrong.
Oretha married Jimmie Eugene Armstrong of Conway Arkansas and relocated to California. To this union five children were born. Oretha attended school to become a Licensed Vocational Nurse and was employed for over 30 years with USC Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. She later retired and eventually relocated to Fort Worth, Texas to be near her children.
She survived by her children Jo Ann Johnson, Michael Armstrong, Lisa Armstrong Bell, Candice N. Moore, all of Fort Worth, Texas and Treasure Ortega of Downey, California.
Oretha was blessed to have 8 grandchildren De Shaun Johnson, Lavelle Armstrong, Ebony Bolton, Curtis L. Ortega Jr, Jomic Armstrong, Alexsander J. Bell, Matthew A. Bell and Owen O. Moore. She was a great grandmother to Sierra S Bolton, Shaun Michael Bolton, Christian Armstrong, Zahara-JoAnn Johnson, Abdul Malik Johnson, Pharrel Curtis Ortega and several great great grand children. She is also survived by her nieces Celestine Wilburn and Stacy McCuien; nephew Jovan McCuien of Los Angeles, California; friend Frankie Mercer and a host of other special friends and relatives.
Graveside services will be held 10:00 am, Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Salem Cemetery, Prince Street, Conway, AR.
