Obituary for Odie Mae Wordlaw
Mrs. Odie Wordlaw, 77, of Little Rock departed this life Sunday, December 25, 2011. Mother Odie Mae Johnson Wordlaw was born August 25, 1934 to the late K.C. & Roberta Johnson. She was the fourth child. She was preceded in death by five brothers & one sister in her early teenage years.
She confessed hope in Jesus Christ under the leadership of Elder Miller and later met Robert Wordlaw. She and Robert married on April 15, 1951 and the couple united with Richwood COGIC under the leadership of Elder George Barber. To their union one child was born, Pamela Yvette Wordlaw. She then moved to Little Rock and united with Rose of Sharon COGIC where she served on the mother board until her illness.
She leaves to cherish her sweet memories, her devoted & loving daughter and caregiver, Pamela Wordlaw Robinson;Â three grandchildren, Maria Robinson Miller, Freddie Robinson Jr., both of Little Rock, Ar, and Joey Robinson of Stuttgart, Ark; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Jennell (Dolly) Johnson Maholmes of Witchita, KS;Â one brother, Hosea Johnson (Minister Rosie) of Maywood, Ill. She has one dear beloved sister in law, Mother Equilla Wordlaw Hunter of Lonoke, AR.
Funeral services will be 11 am Friday, December 30, 2011 at Gateway Fellowship International Church, 101 Alice Lane in Lonoke, AR. Interment Sunset Cemetery in Lonoke, AR. Visitation will be 6-7 p.m. Thursday, December 29, 2011 at funeral home. Arrangements entrusted to Larry G. Acklin Funeral Home, 8821 Colonel Glenn, Little Rock. "IN YOUR TIME OF NEED..... WE CARE".
