Obituary for Naman Almeda Gault
Sister Naman Almeda Gault departed this life on Monday, February 14, 2022. She was preceded in death by her father (Roy Hawkins), mother (Maeyou Morris Hawkins), stepmother (Molly Ann Smith Hawkins), husbands (Odis Harris and Willie Felton Gault), brothers (Eldridge Hawkins and Avon Flood), sister (Eva Jewel Moteen), and a baby boy.

She was the eldest daughter of Roy Hawkins and Maeyou Morris Hawkins. She had two siblings: Eldridge Hawkins and Alfreda Hawkins Johnson. Her father, Roy Hawkins, later married Molly Ann Smith Hawkins. When the two families were blended, four more siblings were added: Eva Jewel, Bettye Jewel, Ruthie, and Avon Flood. The blended family, increased again with three more siblings: Palestine, Marzetta, and Patricia Hawkins.

Sister Almeda was educated at the Solomon Grove School. She confessed Christ at an early age and was a faithful, dependable servant until her health began to fail. Sister Almeda willingly served as a Sunday School teacher, choir member, and teacher of the Women Mission. She regularly attended Wednesday night Bible study and vacation Bible school. In addition, she was a regular attendee of the Cypress Creek District Singing Union, Congress, Association, and Church Union.

Her employment history included various domestic jobs and more than twenty-six years of service as a proud employee of International Shoe Company, R.G. Barry Corporation, and San Antonio Shoe Company (SAS).

Sister Almeda loved her community. She enthusiastically supported community activities and projects.

She was married to Odis Harris, and to this union four children were born: Arcotis, Dianne, Vivian and a baby boy.

On October 13, 1963, she married Willie Felton Gault. When the families were blended, three additional children were added: Virdie, James, and J.C. Gault. To this union, two more children were added: Jacqueline and Roxsand Gault.

Sister Almeda leaves to cherish her memories six daughters: Virdie Harris (Crit) of Chicago, Illinois; Arcotis Stanley; Dianne Allen (Kerry); Vivian Marshall; Jacqueline Gault; and Roxsand Gault, all of Conway, Arkansas; sisters Alfreda Johnson, Palestine Harris, and Marzetta Goudeau Hawkins of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Bettye Jewel Reed of Little Rock, Arkansas; Ruthie Flood Morris and Patricia Walker of Conway, Arkansas; twelve grandchildren; and a host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be held 2:30 pm, Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 1514 Hwy 65 North, Twin Groves, AR. Visitation 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Friday, February 18, 2022 at the funeral home. Interment Zion Grove Cemetery in Twin Groves, AR.

Note: All viewing will be held at the funeral home. Family requests masks be worn at all services.
