Obituary for Mary McCray
Mrs. Mary Bunting McCray was born August 19, 1950 in Conway, AR to the late Theodore H. Sr. and Emma (Fortune) Bunting.
She professed her love for Christ at an early age and became a member of the Sinai Church of God in Christ. Mary served in many areas of the church and remained a faithful servant until her health failed her.
She was united in marriage November 12, 1966 to George McCray, the love of her life for 42 years, who preceded her in death.
She started her career at Kimberly Clark in 1971 and retired in 2008 after 37 years of employment.
Mary enjoyed traveling, spending time with her family, and attending sporting events. She was known for her homemade rolls that she baked for many family members and friends.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories three devoted daughters, Mary (Darryl) Gatewood and Juanita Darkis, both of Conway, AR and Paula (Bobby) Phelan of Oakland, TN; two grandchildren George Blake (Whitney) Wright of Rudy, AR and Jasmine Darkis of Conway, AR; one great grandson, Grayson Geoffrey Wright; four brothers Lincoln Hill of Farmerville, LA, Micheal Bunting and Larry (Linda) Bunting, both of Conway, AR and Theodore (Tobi) Bunting, Jr. of Mt. Juliet, TN; two sisters Markeetia Collins of Watertown, TN and Shelia (Will) Isby of Conway, AR; and a host of brother and sister in laws, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her sister, Gracie Mae Drumgoole.
On Friday, February 7, 2025, Mary "Nannie", surrounded by her loved ones, earned her wings and her earthly body was healed. We will miss her dearly, knowing God loved her best and wanted her radiant smile in heaven. He only plants the best in his garden and she was an elegant rose.
Visitation will be held 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm, Friday, February 14, 2025 at True Holiness Saints Center, 198 Hwy 286 East, Conway, AR.
Celebration of Life service will be held 10:00 am, Saturday, February 15, 2025 at True Holiness Saints Center.
Interment Sinai Cemetery in Conway, AR.
