Obituary for Majja Margaret Louise Cowan-Turner
Mrs. Majja Margaret Louise Cowan Turner, 82, of Conway, AR departed this life on Sunday, November 7, 2021. She was born December 1, 1938 in Conway, AR to the late William G. and Lula Mae (Greene) Cowan.
She graduated in 1956 from Pine Street School and was united in Holy Matrimony to Loise Howard Turner on June 23, 1956. They moved to Illinois. Margaret was employed by Maywood Head Start. She moved back to Conway, AR in 1991 and was employed at CAP Head Start until she retired in 2004.
Margaret was a faithful member of Christ Temple Holiness Church USA until her health began to fail. She was the Treasurer of UCWM, the Assistant Church Clerk and worked on the finance committee. She was also a chairperson of the Pine Street School reunion committee.
Margaret is proceeded in death by her parents William G. and Lula Mae Otis Cowan; beloved husband Loise Howard Turner; oldest sister Ruth Cowan Parish and her youngest son David Wagner Turner.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons William (Brenda) Turner of Austin, TX and Robert (Lynette) Turner of Lithonia, GA; daughter in love Robin Turner of Pflugerville, TX; two sisters Judith Ann Taylor of Fort Smith, AR and Mildred Delores (Jimmy) Bryant of Conway, AR; one brother William Earl Cowan of Little Rock, AR; grandchildren Garien Lajuan (Andrea) Gatewood of Chicago, IL; Mathew Turner of Knoxville, TX; Brandon, Adam and David Jared, all of Pflugerville, TX; Paige Turner of Austin, TX; Kayla Turner of Ohio and Kandace Turner of Lithonia, GA; one great grandchild Adam Jr. of Austin, TX; special nieces Lula Mae Tyus and Alice F B Guthrie; special nephew Louis Hampton; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 2:30 pm, Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Christ Temple Holiness Church, 868 Willow Street, Conway, AR. Visitation will be held 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm, Friday, November 12, 2021 at the funeral home. Interment Robinson Cemetery in Conway, AR.
