Obituary for Lonnie Lee Harris
Mr. Lonnie Lee Harris, 65, of Conway, AR departed this life Saturday, July 30, 2022. He was born July 27, 1957 in Little Rock, AR to the late Elijah and Bertha (Brown) Harris.
He was educated at Hall High in the Little Rock School District System, graduating with the class of 1976.
Lonnie was baptized at the age of 12 at Saint Peters Rock under the pastorage of Rev. Evans. He also attended First Baptist Main in North Little Rock, AR under the leadership of D. L. Richardson. He later united with Greater Pleasant Branch Baptist Church in Conway, AR under the leadership of Rev. J. R. Raynor. He served as a Deacon and later was ordained as a Minister in 2001.
He worked at Holman Distributions (Kimberly Clark) for a number of years.
He was joined in holy matrimony to Gladys Alexander on January 30, 1982. This union brought two stepchildren, Adam Huskey and Nicole Phillips and Daniel Harris and Felicia Harris were added to the union.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Elijah and Bertha Harris, three brothers, James Harris, Edward Harris and Carl Harris and one sister, Edna Harris.
Lonnie leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 40 years, Gladys; two daughters, Nicole (Carrol Lee) Phillips and Felicia Harris of Conway; two sons, Adam Huskey (Michelle) and Daniel Harris both of Conway; four brothers, Elijah Harris Jr. (Helen) of Hot Springs, AR, Lawrence Harris (Pam), Therman Harris and Jimmy Harris all of Little Rock, AR; three sisters, Faye Watkins (Roosevelt) of Alexander AR, Patricia Harris of Little Rock, AR and Diane Harris of Flint, Michigan; one grandson, Triston Phillips of Conway; along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 2:30 pm, Saturday, August 6, 2022 at Greater Pleasant Branch Baptist Church, 601 Spruce Street, Conway, AR. Visitation 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm, Friday, August 5, 2022 at the funeral home. Interment Mt. Olive Cemetery in Mt. Vernon, AR.
