Obituary for Lloyd E. Lasker, Sr.
Lloyd Eddie Lasker Sr. was born May 19, 1948 to Sylvanus and Maeopal Lasker in Conway, Arkansas.

Lloyd departed into eternal life Tuesday, September 4, 2012. Preceding him in death were his parents and three sisters: Lou Dovie Pace, Linda Sue Lasker and Delores Frances Lasker-Gatling.

Lloyd was raised in Conway, Arkansas where he attended and graduated from Pine Street High School in 1966.  He was one of the first black football players to attend The University of Central Arkansas. He enlisted in the US Army shortly after. He married the only love of his life Janie Lee Harper-Stubbs December 26, 1969. From this union he raised six children. He later moved to Detroit, MI to work at Detroit Diesel and entered barber school.

Lloyd and Janie returned to Conway to raise their family in 1973. He was a businessman, running a successful barber shop and as a concrete finisher with his brothers at Lasker Inc., before retiring his barber shop and eventually starting Lasker Brothers with his brother Clarence in 2001.

Lloyd was baptized in Jesus name and received the Holy Ghost in May 1975 under the pastoral leadership of Elder Isaiah Drone. Lloyd was a devoted and faithful servant of our Lord Jesus Christ. He was a member of Bibleway Pentecostal Church in Mayflower, AR from 1974-2005, where he was Head Deacon. During his membership, Lloyd was the overseer for the construction of the building that Bibleway is currently located in Maumelle, AR under the Pastor Lonnie Aaron. In 2005 Lloyd became one of the founding members of the House of Refuge and Deliverance Ministries in Mayflower, AR, under the pastoral ship of his son, Lloyd Lasker Jr. and ultimately was the contractor and overseer of the construction of the building where the ministry is today.

Everyone in the community respected Lloyd; he was a Man’s man, who stood for sound biblical principles. No one had crosswords with him. He was meek, never puffed up, and a man of few words. His presence demanded respect wherever he went, and his kindness made everyone feel special.

Lloyd leaves to remember his life and to cherish his memory, wife, Janie Lee Harper Stubbs Lasker. His children: Nicolas “Nick” (Karen), Dalian “Duck” (Tamela), Lloyd “Bugg” (Stella), Tennille “Nille” (Cory), Tanzetta “Zett”, and Terina “Rene” (Aaron). Thirteen grandchildren: Demetris, Alfred-Lloyd “Al”, Taylor, Tierra, Lloyd III “Trey”, Dalian"Qua", Tristen, Tori, Kania, Victoria, Aaman Jamal “AJ”, Talyssa, and Trinity. Six brothers: Vernon (Mae Arlene), Johnnie (Kara), Billy, Sylvanus (Carolyn), Herman (Essie), and Clarence (Alberta); two sisters: Doris Dawson and Barbara (Taft); one sister-n-law, Lois Harper. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, classmates, business associates, friends and church family.
