Obituary for Kadra Joyce Acklin
Kadra Joyce Acklin was born February 16, 1975 to Bobby Joe Acklin and Pamela (Sewell) Acklin at Conway Regional Hospital.
She accepted Jesus as her personal Savior at the Palarm Chapel Missionary Baptist Church and was baptized by Reverend James E. Mackey.
Kadra was educated at Conway Christian Academy, the Conway Public School District and graduated from Philander Smith College with a degree in Psychology.
She was currently a faithful member of the Samaritan Hill Missionary Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and she served as the Sunday School secretary.
Kadra had a contagious smile! Her dad called her the Facebook Queen. She found joy communicating and giving a comforting word each day. She loved life and was such an encourager to others. Kids simply adored her! She had a special bond with her brother, Byron.
Kadra was diagnosed with Sickle Cell Anemia at two months old. Medical doctors said she would not live to be a teenager, but God kept her here for forty-three years! She dealt with sickle cell graciously knowing that whatever she had to endure that God would only allow what she could handle.
Her greatest personal accomplishment was being a mother to her son, Joshua.
On Tuesday morning at approximately 7:15 am, Kadra left her earthly body and received her new one with no more needle sticks, strokes, transfusions, hospital stays, surgeries, medicine and pain. She was welcomed home by her “TeeTee” Shanda and her “Pawpaw” Jasper saying “Hey grandbaby”.
Kadra leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Joshua Keith Nelson; parents Reverend Bobby Acklin and Pamela; brother Reverend Byron Acklin; niece Syriah Acklin; maternal grandmother Joyce Sewell and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and so so many friends and acquaintances.
Homegoing Celebration will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, May 12, 2018 at First Baptist Church, 811 S.A. Jones Drive in North Little Rock, AR. Visitation 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm, Friday, May 11, 2018 at the funeral home. Interment Palarm Cemetery in Mayflower, AR.
