Obituary for John Wesley Rich
Mr. John Wesley Rich was born on June 12, 1960 to the union of Robert and Calantha Rich in Forrest City, Arkansas.
Johnny was a loving husband and father. Johnny was united in holy matrimony on April 8, 1989 to Virgia Thornton. He graduated from Forrest City High School.
Johnny affectionally known as "Old School" was employed at Colonel Glenn Nursing and Rehab where he worked as the Housekeeping Supervisor. Johnny worked diligently and absolutely LOVED his job and coworkers. He had a love for Kango hats, shades, and blues music. Johnny was a person of many characters, but to know him was to love him. He was direct with his words, whatever he was thinking, he made sure to say it. He was hard working, reliable and dedicated to the people that he loved.
Johnny acquired his wings on Thursday, August 15, 2024. He was preceded in death by his son, Damarlon Thornton; granddaughter Demyra Thornton; father Robert Rich, Sr.; mother Calantha Rich; sister Dora Cook and brothers Eugene Rich and Larry (Betty) Rich.
Johnny leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Virgia Thornton Rich; one son John Rich; two daughters Monique Rich and Tameasha (Willie) Armstrong; three sisters Dianne Rich, Deborah Rich and Tammy Hampton; three brothers Isiah (Bobby) Rich, Robert (Cherly) Rich and Barry Rich and Randy Rich; six grandchildren Jasmine Johnson, Jada Rich, John Rich, Demarlon Thonrton, Jr. Malaysha Martin and Miracle Armstrong.
Visitation will be held Sunday, August 18, 2024 at 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
