Obituary for John Sanders
Mr. Johnny (John) Allen Sanders, 59, of Conway, Ar departed this life Friday, June 6, 2014. He was born on February 9, 1955 in Morrilton, AR to the late Louvenia Newsome and Woodrow Sanders. He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Jackie Kelley; two stepsons, Orlando Hyman and Zeramion Scott.
He accepted Christ early in life and was a member at Solomon Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Twin Groves, AR.
He was a 1973 graduate of Morrilton High School and from the University of Arkansas College in Morrilton. He retired from the United States Army with 20 years of active duty as a Drill Sergeant. In May 2014, he retired from the City of Conway Sanitation Department.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Sanders; four daughters, Johnmesha Sanders of Little Rock, AR; LuKwanda Sanders of Dallas, TX; Amelia Sanders of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and Kendra (Michael) Brown of Fort Hood, TX; two stepdaughters, Mia Briscoe and Alexis Hyman, both of Conway, AR; one son, Tamario (Courtney) Sanders of Springdale, AR; one stepson, Damion Scott of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; one brother, Billie Black of Russellville, AR; two sisters, Cornelia Parks and Toyce Garlington, both of Kansas City, MO; thirteen grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 10 am, Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at Rock of Ages Missionary Baptist Church, 8112 Bicentennial Road, North Little Rock, AR. Visitation 2-5 pm Monday, June 16, 2014 at the funeral home. Interment AR Veterans Cemetery, 1501 West Maryland Ave, North Little Rock, AR.Â
