Obituary for Joe Louis Langford, Sr.
Mr. Joe Louis Langford, 91, of Hot Springs, Arkansas departed this life December 23, 2011. He was born in Malvern, AR on February 10, 1920. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings.Â
Mr. Langford attended Jackson State University, where he played basketball. He was a jazz collector as well as a musician. He also enjoyed playing golf in his spare time. He lived in California during the 1950s, but moved back home (Hot Springs) in 1981. He worked at the Arlington Hotel in Hot Springs for several years as a bellsman.
He is survived by his son, Joe (Socorro)Â Langford, Jr. of California; four grandchildren, Jamie C. Langford, Leticia Langford, Dennis Kelley, and Jazmine Langford, all of California; two great grandchildren, McKinzie B. Langford and Tristian I. Langford, both of California and a host of other relatives and friends.Â
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 pm Thursday, January 5, 2012 at Levi Towers Residential Homes, 240 Prospect Avenue, Hot Springs.  Arrangements entrusted to Larry G. Acklin Funeral Home 8821 Colonel Glenn, Little Rock. "IN YOUR TIME OF NEED..... WE CARE".
