Obituary for Joe L. McCray
Mr. Joe L. McCray, 65, of Conway, Arkansas departed this life Thursday, August 20, 2015. He was born on February 6, 1950 in Conway, AR to the late Willie and Elizabeth (Dukes) McCray.
He was baptized and a believer in Jesus Christ and united with the United Baptist Church. He remained a member until death.
Through his years in life he worked faithfully in his community serving 20 years in the United States Army National Guard, a Master Plumber and later establishing a successful business, Joe L. McCray Plumbing and General Contract Company until 2000.
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife of 43 years Carolyn Bedford McCray; two children Joe Jr. (Delissa) of Killeen, TX and Kim of Conway; five grandchildren Robert, Jada, Parris, DeAndre and Taliyah; six brothers Dr. Willie Giles (Earnestine) of Kansas City, Mo, Henry Mason Sr. (Daisy), Jerry McCray (Barbara), Willie McCray (Carolyn), Houston McCray (Carolyn) and Sam McCray (Ada) all of Conway; three sisters Dorothy Bedford (Marvin), Lorene McCray and Diane Jenkins (Jerry) all of Conway; one goddaughter Sabrenna “Teddy” Rodgers-Lee (Charles) and children Antonio (Tiffany), Patrick, Justin, Hannah, Jadon and Jair of Little Rock and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 11 am, Thursday, August 27, 2015 at United Baptist Church, 139 Old Military Road, Conway, AR. Visitation 5-7 pm, Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at United Baptist Church. Interment Dukes Cemetery in Conway, AR.
