Obituary for Jessie Lee Nelson
Mother Jessie Lee Nelson was born February 26, 1934 in Washington, Ar. She was one of (13) siblings born to the union of the late Joseph Briggs Sr. and Willie Mae Golston Briggs. Jessie departed this life at age 87, on August 19, 2021.

She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Bornes B. Nelson Sr. on June 17th, 1951 and to this union 11 children were born.

She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age at Rock Hill Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Elder Albert Poe, College Station, Ar. In 1975 she later served under the leadership of her late husband Rev. Bornes B. Nelson Sr. until his health failed in November 1995. She then served under the leadership of her son Pastor Victor W. Nelson until her Heavenly Father called her home from labor to rest for a job well done.

She worked at Holiday Inn as a supervisor in housekeeping for 25+ years and then later joined Memorial Baptist Hospital in NLR, AR for 32 years as a Labor & Delivery Scrub Tech. She was a caregiver all her life, making sure everyone was cared for. She touched the life of everyone she came in contact with and was a loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend and will truly be missed.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, husband (Bornes B. Nelson Sr.), 2 sons (Larry Nelson and Jerry Nelson), 1 grandson, 1 great-grandson, 1 great-grand-daughter, 2 brothers Eric Briggs and Rev. Star Jr. (Vernis), and 3 sisters (Louise, Josephine, and Hazel).

She leaves to cherish her memory her children: Ella, Catha, Alvin, Gregory (Florence), Rickey (Cheryl), Victor, Bornes B. Jr (Dorothy), Darren (Nicole), Joseph (Tameka), son-in-law Terry Todd Sr., and god-son Mark (Tela). Sisters: Helen Jones, Theretha Jackson, Liz (Philip) Comic, Merlene (Johnny) Smith, Maurice Briggs, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Faith Temple Full Gospel Deliverance Center, 1920 Broadway Street, Little Rock, AR. Visitation 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm, Friday, August 27, 2021 at funeral home. Interment Rest in Peace Memorial Gardens in Hensley, AR.
