Obituary for Jerry Heaggans
Deacon Jerry Heaggans of Kansas City, KS departed this life July 11, 2009. He was born December 3, 1945 to the late Morgan and Maeola Reese Heaggans in Menifee, Arkansas. Deacon Heaggans was the last of set identical triplets, John and James.Â
He accepted Christ at an early age and joined New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Plumerville, Arkansas. He attended grade school and graduated from East Side High School in Menifee, Arkansas.
Jerry later moved to Kansas City, Missouri where he united wit Daisette White. He later joined the Maranath Seventh Day Adventist Church. He was called into the ministry and served as Deacon at the church until his death. He sang with a quartet for many years and led the group. He worked as a construction worker as a trade in the Missouri area until his health failed.
He is survived by his wife, Daisette of Kansas City, Kansas; two sons Eugene Burks of Kansas City, Kansas; Robert Lee White III (Angel) of Huntsville, Alabama; two Daughters Renetta Wright of Seattle, Washington and Tiffany Laraine Whit of Kansas City, KS; eleven grandchildren, One brother, Elbert Heaggans of Morrilton, Arkansas; four sisters, Jewel Morris and Gertrude Black both of St. Louis, Missouri; Erselene Newsome of Kansas City, Missouri and Ruthie Wrather of Little Rock, Arkansas and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins mourn his passing.
Funeral services were held Saturday,July 18, 2009 at 3pm at the New Missionary Seventh Day Adventist 1117 North 28th Street, Kansas City, KS.
Funeral services were held in Arkansas at 2pm Sunday July 19, 2009 at Spring Valley Missionary Baptist Church, Plumerville. Interment St. John Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Larry G. Acklin Funeral Home, Morrilton. "IN YOUR TIME OF NEED....... WE CARE".
