Our beloved Sister, Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at the age of 67, with her children by her side in Quitman, Ar. Janet was born June 1, 1950 in Memphis, Tennessee to the late Raymond Lee Smith and Hildred Mims Smith, Janet was the 2nd of 3 children.
She spent her days with the loves of her life, her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her dog, “Baby” and Cat, “Hunter”. Janet lived for and immensely enjoyed her family, Genealogy, studying her Bible, watching movies, her favorite, “Battleship”, baking and cooking for holidays, family get-togethers, gardening, and shopping. Janet will be remembered for having a great wit and being spirited to the end.
Janet is survived in life by her siblings Ray (Rena Cantrell) Smith of Austin, Texas; Sister Beverly Naquin of Pineland, TX., son, Larry Rhea and wife Sherry Tyler-Rhea of Quitman, Arkansas; daughter, Christie Hardin of Heber Springs, Arkansas; including four grandchildren, Zach Casey of Memphis, TN., Hannah Brewer of Greenbrier, AR., Katherine Hardin of Searcy, AR., Michael (Marissa) Dorsey of Hawaii, Dillon (Shelby) Dorsey of Heber Springs, AR., four great-grandchildren, Zoei Brewer, Maddilynn Dorsey, Lilly Dorsey, Noah Dorsey and numerous extended relatives.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Arkansas Hospice, Conway office for all the loving care you provided particularly Elisha McElroy, Tammy, Charity and Barbara.
