Obituary for James H. Collins
Mr. James H. Collins, 73, of Twin Groves, AR departed this life on Monday, September 19, 2022. He was born July 14, 1949 in North Little Rock, AR to the late Elmire and Mary (Freeman) Rowe.
He attended Dunbar Magnet Middle School and Horace Mann High School in 967. After high school, he joined the Navy Seals in 1969 and was honorably discharged in 1973. He then went on to pursue driving and obtained his CDLs. He later worked at Polaris for the remainder of his time here with us.
He was a devoted husband of 52 years, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, mechanical work, fixing and building things. He enjoyed the smaller things in life: a clean home, yard and a nice home cooked meal. He took pride in his grass. Growing up, the kids knew not to step a foot on the grass. He was all about presentation.
James leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife, Mary; one daughter Tanya Rochelle; two brothers Elmire Rowe and Derrick (PeeWee) Stevenson; two sisters Ruthy Rowe and Beverly Rowe; four grandchildren Jaton Bolden, Rodney (Ashley) Bolden Tyson (Nyokia) Bolden and Khianna Collins; Six great-grandchildren and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, October 1, 2022 at Solomon Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 273 Solomon Grove Road, Twin Groves, AR. Visitation 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm, Friday, September 30, 2022 at the funeral home. Interment Solomon Grove Cemetery in Twin Groves, AR.
