Obituary for Jake Johnson
Mr. Jake Johnson, 91, of Conway, Ar departed this life on November 14, 2014. He was born in Gould, Arkansas on May 15, 1923 to Issac and Martha Gaddy Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Josephine Johnson; three sisters, Mary Johnson, Matilda Harvey and Ubie Alexander; five brothers, Ezekiel, Daniel, Issac, Peter and Nathaniel; daughter-in-law, Shirley Piggee; two son-in laws, Henry Hampton and Cecil Edwards.
He confessed Christ at an early age. He was a member of Salem Missionary Baptist Church. Jake also served his country faithfully in the United States Army.
Jake leaves to cherish his precious memories, two sons, Roy Piggee and Jake (Tracy) Piggee, Jr., six daughters, Virginia Edwards, Elva Hampton, Minnie (Samuel) Woodard, Lesterine (John) Umonah, Julie (Henry) Smith and Barbara Johnson, all of Conway, AR; 30 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 11 am, Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Salem Missionary Baptist Church, 4949 Prince Street, Conway, AR. Visitation 6-7 pm, Friday, November 21, 2014 at the funeral home. Interment Salem Cemetery.
