Obituary for Iva Dean McCuien Buie
Mrs. Iva Dean McCuien Buie, 70, of Little Rock, Ar departed this life Wednesday, July 17, 2013. She was born on March 6, 1943. She was the daughter of Claud McCuien and Dortha Credit Senior. She is preceded in death by her parents and son, Norris Lagaway.
Dean confessed her faith in Christ at an early age. She was very active in church and served in several auxiliaries including the Mother's Board and Mission Board. Also, she helped in assisting the youth department.
Dean worked at Little Rock School District at Watson Elementary School. She was a community activist and worked with Accorn and other community agencies.
Dean was united in matrimony to Larry Buie in 1978.
Dean is survived by four sons, Rocky McCuien and Bobby (Leola) Gray, both of Little Rock, Kellar (LaTonia) McCuien of Plumerville, AR and Ralpheal (Toni) McCuien of Virginia Beach, VA.Â
Funeral services will be held 10 am Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at Greater New Hope Baptist Church, 1723 W. 44th Street, North Little Rock, AR. Visitation 6-7 pm Monday, July 22, 2013 at the church. Interment Mt. Pilgrim Cemetery, Marche, AR.
