Obituary for Ira William Davis

Mr. Ira W. Davis was born on April 28, 1946, in Texarkana, Arkansas, to parents Willie W. Davis and Elizabeth Powell Davis. He peacefully passed away on Wednesday morning, October 4, 2023, at Blossom Nursing Home, at the age of 77.

Ira Davis attended Little Rock Public Schools and later joined the Army. It was during his military service that he met and married Brenda Dilworth, and their union blessed them with two children, Cynthia and Ira Jr.

Following his discharge from the Army, Ira embarked on a fulfilling career as a truck driver, allowing him to explore the beauty of different places throughout the United States. As the years passed and the road's allure faded, he transitioned his focus to nurturing young minds. For a number of years, he dedicated himself to educating children as a school teacher for Little Rock Public Schools before retiring.

Ira enjoyed life to the fullest, finding solace in the pages of novels and solving puzzles.

Ira Davis is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Willie and Elizabeth, and his four brothers: Henry, Herman, Willie, and Donald Ray Davis.

He is survived by his cherished children, Cynthia (Gregory) Williams and Ira Jr. (Cidalia) Davis, his loving sister, Elizabeth Easterwood, five adoring grandchildren, Imani Williams, Isaiah Williams, Jazmine Davis, Jayden Davis, and Janae Davis, along with a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Thursday, October 12, 2023 at the funeral home followed by graveside services at 10:00 am, Friday, October 13, 2023 at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, 1501 W. Maryland Avenue, NLR, AR.

Services entrusted to Larry G. Acklin Funeral Home, 910 Walnut Street, Conway, AR. "IN YOUR TIME OF NEED...WE CARE."
