Obituary for Hazel Flood
Ms. Hazel Dean Flood, 72, of Flint, MI, departed this life Friday, May 30, 2014. She was born September 11, 1941 in Springfield, Arkansas to the union of Earnest Sr. & Freddie Bell Williams. She was the third oldest of nine children. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earnest and Freddie Williams; daughter, Sharlene Flood; brother, Sonny Williams; grandsons, James Eldrece Wright-Flood and Jerrick Flood; and dear nephew, Terance Allen Williams. She accepted Christ into her life at an early age and was baptized at Greater Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Plumerville, Arkansas. Hazel attended Menifee High School in Arkansas.

On September 12, 1959, Hazel married Aaron T. Flood in Damascus, Arkansas. They relocated to Flint, Michigan in 1966. Hazel became a faithful member of Second Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Flint, Michigan. 

Hazel was a kind and generous person. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, siblings, other family and friends. She loved praising the Lord. She also enjoyed listening to music, playing spades, going to bingo, fishing, and traveling. She enjoyed her life and lived it to the fullest.

Hazel leaves to cherish her memories, Children: Stanley Flood, Sr. (Patricia) and Aaron Flood Jr., both of Flint, MI; Shirley McMullen of Dallas, TX; Dorothy (Victor) Sublett of Jacksonville, FL; Felecia Barnett of Columbia, SC; and Sherry January or Dallas, TX; Siblings Alice Mae Blackburn of Fayetteville, AR; Steven Williams, Athalene Hill, and Georgia (Joe) McNabb, all of Springfield, AR; Allene Walls of Flint, MI; Lorene Walls and Earnest Williams, Jr. of Morrilton, AR, and Wayne Walls of Conway, AR; Grandchildren Stanley (Kathy) Flood, Jr. of Ohio;  James Flood of Jacksonville, FL; Jerome Flood (Lisa), Lashanda Flood (Orlandis McNeal Sr), Quandra Nelson, all of Flint, MI; Teara (Eddie) Spradley and Sharlene Sublett of Jacksonville, FL;  Shaneka Flood, Aaron Flood III, and Lavelle Barnett, Jr., all of Flint, MI; numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be held 2 pm, Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Greater Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 728 Mt. Olive Road, Plumerville, AR. Visitation 6-7 pm Friday, June 6, 2014 at the funeral home. Interment Mt. Olive Cemetery, Plumerville, AR.
