Obituary for Grace Hawkins Mitchem
Mrs. Grace Hawkins Mitchem, 94, of Solgohachia departed this life August 14, 2011. She was born to the late Lucy Clinkscale and James Hawkins on January 2, 1917 in Morrilton, Ar. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Elbert Mitchem; children Bill Mitchem, Amos Mitchem, Adell Mitchem, Johnny (Joker) Criswell, Ezell Mitchem and Rena Bell Ward; a brother, US Hawkins; two sisters, Anna (Hawkins) Morris and Flora (Dooley) Bell.
She leaves to cherish her memory eleven sons: Howard Mitchem and Waymon Mitchem, both of Blue Springs MO. Wendell Mitchem of Grandview MO., Kenneth Criswell of Morrilton, Ar, Benjamin Morris of Clarksville, Arkansas, Albert Mitchem of Raytown MO., Richard Morris of Solgohachia Arkansas, James Mitchem of Kansas City, MO, Jewel Jerry Mitchem of Kansas City MO. Spain Mitchem of Grandview, MO. Emmitt Harold Mitchem of Morrilton Arkansas. Three daughters Lois Kukcinovich of Philadelphia, PA, Gracie Williams of Forrest City Arkansas, and Ruby Jackson of Grandview, MO. Two brothers Israel and Dock Hawkins of Kansas City, Kansas; two sisters Lucille Hawkins Morris of Grandview MO. and Gussie Hawkins Hammons of Center Ridge, Arkansas. 55 grandchildren, 65 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, and nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 11 am Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Harding Street Church of Christ, 906 E. Harding St/Business 9, Morrilton, AR 72110. Family visitation one hour prior to service. Interment Bethlehem Cemetery in Springfield, AR.
