Obituary for Gloria D.J. Hale
Mrs. Gloria D.J. Hale, 67, of North Little Rock, Arkansas departed this life Tuesday September 6, 2011. She was born September 29, 1943 in Lake Village, AR to Homer and Blanchie B. Jones. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Otha L. Jones and Melvin Jones.
Mrs. Hale was married at an early age to the late Berry Lee Hale. Together they had eight children. Bobby, Billy, Calvin and Erma J. Hale. They then moved to Dermott, Ar where Gaylone, Irven, Vincent and Sandra L. Hale were born. Later in life Mrs. Hale moved to Little Rock, AR with her eight children due to her health in 1974.
She worked at UAMS for 31 years before she retired in 2005. Sister Hale was a devoted Christian woman who loved her church home at North Point Church of Christ. She enjoyed sharing her life to all, especially younger people, encouraging them to come closer to God. She loved cooking, singing, sewing, traveling and selling her Avon for twenty plus years. Sister Hale journey ended in Milwaukee, WI. She was an outstanding mother, grandmother and friend. Just to be in her presence was an honor and she will be truly missed by many.
She leaves to cherish her memory, five sons, Bobby Earl Hale (Latyi, Antonio K, Malcolm) of Minneapolis, MN, Billy Ray Hale of Brickeys, AR, Calvin Lee Hale (Clarissa & Mariah) of St. Petersburg, FL, Erma J. Hale (Cleo, Antonio T, Crystal, Sereniti) of North Little Rock, AR, Gaylone Hale Wahl of Wrightsville, AR, Irven Smith & Shirehta Hale (Irven Jr, Isaish, Iverson, Roman, & Ivory) of Milwaukee, WI, Vincent Edward & Brenda Hale (La'Porschea & Chansey) of Little Rock, Ar and Sandra Lynn Hale (Ca'netra & Colei Ann) of Pontiac, MI; two sisters, Bettie L. Hite (Leon Sr.) of St. Louis, MO and Bonnie L. Loving (Preston) of Milwaukee, WI;Â 18 grandchildren and 2 great greatgrandchildren.
Funeral services 11 a.m. Saturday, September 17, 2011 at North Point Church of Christ, 916 N. H Street, North Little Rock, AR. Visitation 6-7 p.m. Friday a funeral home chapel. Interment Arkansas Memorial Gardens. Arrangements entrusted to Larry G.
