Obituary for Geraldine Atkinson Perkins
Mother Geraldine Perkins, 84, of Conway, AR departed this life Tuesday, October 13, 2015. She was born to the late Henry and Willie Ann (McCuien) Atkinson on May 28, 1931 in Conway, AR.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Josephine Foster and Wilma Credit; one son, Dale Stafford Perkins; and a brother, George Atkinson.
She married Troy Perkins and to this union two sons were born, Troy Lynn Perkins and Dale Stafford Perkins.Â
She was a member of Salem Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully on the Mother's Board, Usher's Board, Chairperson of the Benevolence Committee and a faithful member of the Sunday School and Women's Mission.
Mother Perkins worked for over 30 years at Conway Regional Medical Center until she retired in 1997. She was also the caregiver for many of the elderly in the Conway community for over 40 years. She served on the Foster Grandparent Program and was a dedicated member of the Cheerful Givers.Â
Mother Perkins leaves to cherish her memories; one son, Troy Lynn Perkins of Conway, AR; one grandson, Dale Stafford Perkins, Jr.; one great granddaughter TaJaiydah Ch'nese Perkins; an aunt, Minnie Boyce of Chicago, IL; a special niece and caregiver, Norene Ealy; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and a special friend, Casterene Henderson. Â
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Greater Pleasant Branch Baptist Church, 601 Spruce Street, Conway, AR. Visitation 6-7 pm, Friday, October 23, 2015 at the church. Burial Salem Cemetery.
