Obituary for George McCray
George McCray was born January 8, 1948 in Conway, AR to the late Willie and Elizabeth (Dukes) McCray.
He confessed a hope in Christ and was united with the United Baptist Church at an early age. He later joined the Sinai Church of God In Christ under Supt. S.D. Mitchell and was an active member until his health failed him. He went home to rejoice and be with the Lord on Saturday morning, August 22, 2009.
He leaves to cherish his fond memories his loving and devoted wife of 42 years Mary McCray. Three wonderful daughters, Mary Gatewood (Darryl) of Conway, AR; Juanita Darkis (Homer) of Lawton, OK and Paula Vandaveer of Conway, AR. Two grandchildren, George Blake Wright and Jasmine Darkis. Seven brothers, Dr. Willie Giles (Ernestine) of Indianapolis, IN; Henry Mason, Sr. (Daisy), Joe McCray (Carolyn); Jerry McCray (Barbara); Willie McCray (Carolyn), Houston McCray (Carolyn) and Sam McCray (Ada) all of Conway, AR. Three sisters, Dorothy Bedford (Marvin), Lorene McCray, and Cherry Diane Jenkins (Jerry) all of Conway. A host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 11am Friday True Holiness Saints Center 198 Hwy 286 East Conway, AR. Interment Sinai Cemetery. Visitation Thursday 6 - 7:30pm Sinai C.O.G.I.C. 210 Hwy 286 East Conway, AR. Arrangements entrusted to Larry G. Acklin Funeral Home, Conway. "IN YOUR TIME OF NEED...... WE CARE".
