On Friday morning, June 9, 2023, God picked a lovely flower from his garden, the great spirit of Mr. Gary Lamont Simmons.
Gary was born on August 20, 1973, in Conway, Arkansas to Fred Simmons Jr. and Lorraine Davis-Causey. Gary graduated from Guy Perkins High School in 1991. One July 5, 2012, he was joined in holy matrimony to Kimberly Sheridan. They enjoyed traveling, shopping, and spending quality time together.
He is proceeded in death by his father, Fred Simmons, LC Causey and sister, Rochelle Simmons.
He professed a hope in Christ at an early age at the Solomon Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Twin Groves, AR. He had a passion for cooking, and he enjoyed baking and creating tasty entrees. He was an active sponsor at the GYST House and Sober Living in Little Rock, AR. He would mentor recovering addicts and worked as a Transitional Life Coach. He was avid in public speaking, he enjoyed music, and a huge sports fan. Gary had a phenomenal personality. He was very compassionate and had a sense of humor like no other. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife Kim Sheridan Simmons, his mother, Lorraine Causey, two sisters Rhonda Causey (Dallas, TX) and Cheryl (Greg) Tims (Conway, AR); one brother Boris Horton (Conway, AR); one aunt: Annie Ruth Gray (Atlanta, GA) and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm, Monday, June 19, 2023 at Solomon Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 273 Solomon Grove Road, Twin Groves, AR. Visitation one hour prior to service (12:00 noon). Interment Solomon Grove Cemetery in Twin Groves, AR.
