Obituary for Fayeola Sanders
Mrs. Fayeola Moore Sanders, 65, of Cleveland, AR, departed this life Friday, March 1, 2013. She was born to the late Thomas Jefferson (T.J) and Elizabeth Moore in Cleveland, AR on April 13, 1947. She is preceded in death by her stepfather, Chester Lee Byers, and one brother, Carl Dean Canady. 

Fayeola attended elementary school in the Center School District in Cleveland, AR. Faye atteneded high school in Kansas City, MO where she graduated from Lincoln High School in 1965. 

Faye had a thirst for knowledge and she continued her formal education receiving an Associates’ degree in Applied Science Social Work from Charles Stewart Mott Community College in Flint, MI. In May 2011 she received a Bachelor of Social Works degree from Wayne State University. She later received a Masters of Social Works degree. Fayeola worked with several agencies in the field of social work until her 
retirement.

Even though Fayeola didn't have any natural born children she reared several foster children. Fayeola loved children. She had one god daughter, Kenshasha Faye Williams in Kansas City, MO.

Fayeola gave her life to Christ at an early age uniting with the New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church in Cleveland, AR under the pastorate of Rev. W.T.C. Alexander. She later moved to Flint, MI and united with the New Jerusalem Baptist Church under the pastorate of Rev. Odis Floyd. Faye remained faithful to her church for more than forty years serving in numerous capacities. Faye received numerous awards and certificates throughout her lifetime.

In 1966 Fayeola united in wedlock to Jerry Heaggans who preceded her in death. She later united in wedlock to Tarlice Sanders. Together, they moved to Flint, MI. Tarlice preceded her in death also.

In January 2013 Fayeola retunred to Kansas City, MO to be with her family until her demise.

Fayeola leaves to cherish her memories, one brother, Thomas Earl McVey of Morrilton, AR; five sisters, Shelbia Bennett of Davenport, IA, Deloise and Theodora Moore of Atlant, GA, Aileen Moore of Morrilton, AR and Hattie Rice of Menifee, AR. Five first cousins that was reared along with Fayeola by her mother; Burnell Canady of Conway, AR Malvern Canady of Kansas City, MO, Melvarene Williams of Booneville, MO, Sandra Ricks-Martin of Kansas City, MO and Erma McDaniels of Kansas City, MO; Three step-brothers Jimmy Canady, Billy Byers, and Chester Byers all of Kansas City, MO; three step-sisters, Elsie Marie (Kenneth) Sylvan and Ivy Lee Caston of Kansas City, MO and Francine Byers of Cleveland, AR; a special cousin Cecila Roberts of Kansas City, MO; two special friends, Elizabeth Harris and Pamela Kleinmark of Flint, MI; her New Jerusalem Church family and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends not mentioned nor forgotten.




Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 10:00 am at New Prospect Baptist Church, 3433 Hwy 95, Cleveland, AR. Visitation 9 am prior to services. Interment New Mt. Zion Cemetery in Hattieville, AR.
