Mrs. Emma Montgomery Storay gained her wings on October 26, 2022 at the age of 85, while under Arkansas
Hospice Care at her home.
She was born November 15,1936 in Nokomis, Alabama to Frank and Ethel
Montgomery.
She married the love of her life, George Storay Sr. July 16,1954. She moved from Pensacola,FL to
Little Rock, AR in 1958. To this union, 6 children were born. They lived in McAlmont,AR for 35 years, then
moved to Sherwood,AR in 2001.
Emma was introduced as “Barbara”, a nickname, to family and friends. She was employed at VA Fort Roots
as a Licensed Practical Nurse for 31 years. She was a devout Christian. She was a member of Pilgrim Rest
Missionary Baptist Church #3 for 60 plus years where she served as a member of the choir, Willing Workers,
Mission Society, and Women’s I Sunday school class.
Emma was known for her German chocolate cakes. She loved cooking and baking for her family and friends.
During family visits it was nothing for her to fix each person's favorite dish. She had a heart of gold and was
always doing for others.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 68 years George Storay, Sr.; children, George (Erma)
Storay,Jr. of Sherwood, AR; Charles Storay, Sr. of Lansing, MI, Cynthia Jones of Little Rock,AR; Debra
(Dennis) Hammond of North Little Rock, AR; Michael (Elaine) Storay, Sr. of Lansing,MI; Vincent Storay of
Sherwood,AR; one bonus daughter Cheryl Benford of St.Louis,MO; brothers in law Alfred and Carthel Storay,
Jr. of Little Rock,AR; 21 grandchildren, host of great-grands; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank & Ethel Montgomery; brothers, Willie Frank and Artis
Montgomery; sister, Binna Mae Gant, one son-in-law Charles E. Jones II, and one great-grandson Anthony
Alvion Davis III.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 am, Monday, November 7, 2022 at Pilgrim Rest #3 Baptist Church, 3801 Springer Blvd, Little Rock, AR. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Interment 12:00 pm at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock, AR.
