Obituary for Elnora Veatrice Pilgrim
Mrs. Elnora Veatrice McCuien Pilgrim, 86, passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at the home of her daughter in Bellwood, Illinois. She was born on July 16, 1928 in Conway, Arkansas to Willie McCuien and Lizzie Gilmore McCuien.

 She married Boyd Wright Pilgrim December 10, 1946 in Conway, Arkansas and out of this union they were blessed with seven children. He preceded her in death. Elnora was the youngest of fifteen children born to Willie and Lizzie, thirteen preceded her in death; nine brothers, Albert, O B, Paul, Claude, Robert, Herman, Leo, Roosevelt and Joe; four sisters Ophelia, Hazel, Erma Lee and Willie Ann.

She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and united with Salem Baptist Church in Salem, Arkansas.

Elnora is survived by her four sons  Artis (Ireline) of Chicago, IL; Odis (Peggy) of Fort Smith, AR; Marcus (Beverly) of Chicago, IL, and Lawson of Dallas Texas ; three daughters Roydean ( J.C.) of Detroit, MI;  Marilyn (Willie) of Bellwood, Il and Dinah of Midwest City, OK; One sister, Minnie Boyce of Chicago, IL; Fifteen Grandchildren: Gwendolyn, Odis II, Roy K, Seprena, Karah, Tavares, Camille, Rhonda, Kelcey, Paris, Kimberly, Tiffany, Tamara and Damian; twenty-one great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

She was known for her beautiful smile. She was a kind, free-hearted and understanding woman, who loved fishing, music and watching Shirley Temple movies.

Her home was the neighborhood sanctuary. She reached out to all the children in the community and was supportive, not only to her children but all children in reaching their life goals. 
She loved reading the Bible over the phone with her only surviving sibling Minnie Lou.
 
Funeral services will be 11 am, Friday, October 17, 2014 at Greater Pleasant Branch Baptist Church, 601 Spruce Street, Conway, AR. Visitation 6-7 pm, Thursday, October 16, 2014 at the church. Interment Salem Cemetery.

Services entrusted to Larry G. Acklin Funeral Home, 910 Walnut Street, Conway, AR. "IN YOUR TIME OF NEED...WE CARE."
