Obituary for Elias Lee Andrew Ricks, Jr.
Mr. Elias Lee Andrew Ricks, Jr., 58, of Conway, Ar departed this life on Saturday, January 27, 2018. He was born on September 29, 1959 in Marianna, AR to the late Elias Lee Andrew and Lorene (Polk) Ricks.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Pamela Casey-Ricks; mother, Lorene Ricks and father, Elias Ricks, Sr.
Dune, as he was lovingly called, received Christ at an early age at St. John Baptist Church in Marianna, Ar under the leadership of Rev. Spencer Brown. After moving to Conway, Elias united with the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Houston, AR where he served as a deacon.
He graduated from Lee Senior High School in Marianna in 1977. He worked at Universal Nolin, Virco, AmTran and Conway Human Development Center. Dune used his musical talents to write music as well as perform in a men's singing group.
He is survived by two sons, Carlos Shavers of Maumelle, Ar and Carlon Ricks of Conway, AR; one daughter, Sharon Polk of Jonesboro, AR; three sisters, Linda Ricks-Jones of Dallas, TX and Doris Ricks and Patricia Ricks-Patton, both of Conway, AR; three brothers, James Ricks of McKinney, TX and Carl (Sharon) Ricks and Derrell (Wilma) Turner, both of Conway, AR; one granddaughter, Londyn Ricks and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 2:30 pm, Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 38 Hill Loop, Bigelow, AR. Visitation 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm, Friday, February 2, 2018 at the funeral home. Interment Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
