Obituary for Edwin Eugene Watkins
Mr. Edwin Eugene Watkins was born April 9, 1951 to the late Leonard Watkins and Geraldine Fuller in Conway, Arkansas. He departed this life on Thursday, September 1, 2022.
Edwin, who was affectionately known as “Bean” to close friends and family, had a big heart. When his youngest brother needed a place to stay, “Bean” gladly took him in; and they have lived together for the last 15 years. He loved to tease people and make sure they had a smile on their face. When he was 18, he joined the United States Air Force where he served proudly. When he confessed a hope in Christ, “Bean” united with Trinity Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Marche, AR under the leadership of his brother, the late Pastor Carl Jackson.
He leaves to cherish his memory 2 sons, Reginald George (Tiffany) of Grand Prairie, Texas and Cameron Lasker of Conway, Arkansas; grandchildren Kennedi and Kamdyn George of Grand Prairie, Texas; sister, Sharon Mosley of Mabelvale, Arkansas; brothers, Franklin Jackson of Plumerville, Arkansas; Danny Jackson, Sr. (Diane) of Conway, Arkansas; Calvert Jackson, Sr. (Lisa) of Sherwood, Arkansas; Ronnie Jackson of Conway, Arkansas; Donnie Jackson of Conway, Arkansas; Lloyd Jackson (Debbie) of Conway, Arkansas; and Tony Jackson of Conway, Arkansas; special friend, Helen Cost; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Trinity Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 14208 Old Maumelle Road, NLR. Visitation 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm, Friday, September 9, 2022 at the funeral home. Interment 12:00 pm noon, Monday, Sept 12, 2022 at AR State Veterans Cemetery, 1501 West Maryland Avenue, North Little Rock, AR.
